Changing Playstyles

I love the phenomenon. The moment I swap toons and get into another AT, my playstyle changes depending on the role I perceive the AT to have. Malentis has finally hit 40, so I'm giving him a deserved break and puttering with alt-itis.

Took a day to find some people and get alts fitted out with infamy. Trusted a random guy off the street for one of them and got a SGmate to help with the rest. Now I have an MM, a corr, a brute and a stalker all kitted out.

(And some day, I'm gonna play with costume creator and make a fire/fire dom. Except I'm still considering between that, and a plant/thorn - I have one on Justice already, but my heart seems to have gone to Freedom now.)

My main problem seems to be a lack of experience with any of these ATs, so my builds have been differing, depending on if I want to stuff stamina in there or not. Trydian, the /poison mm, takes a helluva lot of end when he spams alkaloid and his ST debuffs. Getting in stamina might be better for him. But I also have a leadership based build, that looks nice, (and fun, I worked in vengeance).

Geandakin the stalker. Oh dear. The poor boy. I tried to get some help for him from the stalker forums, but it looks like no one has any experience at all with ninja/regen. So I'm feeling my way solo. Actually to my surprise, I took every damn attack, placate, and just recently build up - and I'm starting to hit ok. Not bad for a low level gimpy damage powerset. Survival is getting better once I picked up fast healing, and reconstruction, with an eye towards dull pain.

Obviously I had to give up something to get all these freaking powers. And embarassingly, both the fitness pool and a travel power had to give way. I am the least mobile stalker out there. Hem. Makes me very disinclined to group, though I can get away with it now cos of the jingle jet.

Again, not having stamina worries me. I am a terrible button spammer. I'm a twitcher. I like hitting stuff as soon as it recharges. So far, I can manage spawns ok, with half end bar left - which is a far sight better than the dom. :P But I worry about once I get my toggles.

I think I have resigned myself to feeling my way blindly and then getting a respec to fix shit later. Knowing me, I will end up growing and evolving with the build and growing accustommed to it, and won't dare to change it. :P

But I will need double-stealth for pvp and I refuse to take that while I'm leveling. Makes no sense for me pve-wise. So I guess a respec is in the works anyhow. I should be able to drop one or two low level blade powers once I get the big ones, that's what they recommend for katana users anyhow, and that's how I'm seeing it too. I need them now because I need the damage, but I won't need 'em later.
