Sometimes you want to be rude, and you just want to type a rude reply. But for the sake of not stirring up trouble and drama in your own SG, you type it somewhere else...

I'll be making either a Spines/Regen Scrapper or a Energy/Ninjitsu Stalker for it.
I never really felt stalkers were that unbalanced personally. But since they nerfed hurricane in response to some stalkers' whining, stopped debuffs from stopping AS, and gave stalkers epic holds/snipes, I've come to be very curious about the following questions:
Which is higher, a stalker's AoE defense, or icicles + rage + focus accuracy?
Which has higher perception, hide + stealth, or glacier armor + focus accuracy?
It's quite a big lie about hurricane being nerfed to stop people from trapping others in bases, because force bubble is a lot worse, if you've seen force bubble in an enclosed space. It's much larger, and dispersion bubble makes the bubbler pretty hard to hold or immobilise. Hurricane was nerfed because people complained about it, and by people I mean kiddie stalkers who thought it was their right to "solo pwn" entire teams of heroes without having to work with other villain ATs.
I did the Rikti respec a while back with the new hurricane. It was kind of interesting to see the Rikti bosses rush right up to the blasters through hurricane to swipe them with those gigantic swords. After that I stopped logging my stormer. Ironically, now that stalkers have access to ranged holds and snipes, it should be easy for them to mez and snipe the storm user. The fixes always come after the nerfs.
Spines/Regen... very annoying creatures. Very good for impaling defs/trollers from range, but actually pretty worthless for trying to kill people their own size. It's not really likely to die from these impales unless they get a lucky crit in. Blappers are far more scary, they're the ones who close in if you get impaled and two-shot you. But they require a lot more skill to play well, since they're also squishy. But yeah, impales are terribly annoying but in no way scary. But the concept is simple: why kill melee if you can kill squishies? Everyone wants to play in I-win mode.
Of course, the easiest I-win mode is to just to only PvP in Bloody Bay with Hami-Os and 50 levels worth of slots against villains with only DOs. You can comfortably shield yourself from the high-levelled powers the villains have. After that you can declare yourself uber in PvP and that is why people want your set nerfed. But actually they aren't...people ignore your set. In real PvP people ignore you as well, because you're not a threat. You just stand around and it's too much effort to take you down. I'll tell you a secret: the empaths are the tanks in PvP. Empathy/Bubbler/Storm aggro uber alles. The only way to outaggro them is to use the nifty changes in I7 (yep, people are already jumping on the taunt bandwagon) and taunt those rampaging squishy killers.
That's how that team we went against on the test server won the match. They had an invul/stone tank. What a joke, you think, an invul/stone tank pvping in the arena? Well...he basically stood around and spam taunted. That and hurled boulders at squishies but mostly he taunted. And taunted. On Ventrilo, I could hear my teammates screaming about being taunted. They screamed and screamed but they couldn't hit anything but the tank, who was predictably hard to kill. Meanwhile his blasters and controllers were free to kill without being hunted.
Sometimes you have to let your own glory take a backseat and let your teammates kill, so you can win the battle on the whole. People will play what they enjoy. I think the tank enjoyed messing up our targetting. I think I enjoy playing support than actually chasing and killing the opposite side. That's why I'm levelling a sonics now, and you can be sure if I go into a zone I will be spamming clarity on my teammates so any EM/nin stalker who thinks he is going to solo-pwn a team, will be seen from a mile off. Or my tank will be running around popping stalkers with icicles so the blaster in my team can blow them to oblivion. Don't like it? Learn to team.
But then that's not something you'll understand do you? The world revolves around you and your glory is above any other person.
