So the big news is that APB crashed and burned and closed. Mostly due to RL company dysfunction and mismanagement. Shock reactions have circled around the blogosphere for a couple days but no one is fantastically surprised. Just fatalistic. "Shortest MMO evar," and all that.
Global Agenda has jumped in, and sent some people - goodness knows how and through what means they got their emails - an opportunistic advert that commiserates in the fall of APB as a fellow MMOFPS, and invites the now server-less APB players to try out the GA trial, and a 30% discount on the box price.
Global Agenda went subscription-less a while back. A clever decision for them. The box price has also dropped to around $29.99. A 30% discount makes it around $21.
This is a rather tempting offer by any means, so I perked up and decided to give the Steam demo a try, despite not being a homeless APB player.
Purely personal opinion, but Global Agenda is Tabula Rasa done right.
More on that later.
